<description>I don&#039;t usually throw my hat into the ring on these since I really have no allegiance other than to parity and equal opportunity for all conferences and all teams, but it has to be asked: Has Michigan left the Big House yet this year?

I&#039;m a little tired of these so-called &quot;Powerhouse Football Factories&quot; getting 8 home games out of 12 total each year. When you PAY teams to come in and give you easy wins at home, you don&#039;t have a strength of schedule argument. And if you don&#039;t have the 6 home/6 away split, I don&#039;t think you have a strength of schedule argument either.

And yes, Notre Dame plays the service academies every year, and the tradition of late is that they are not good football teams. But to serve tradition means you have to stay with the times, and 30-40 years ago, Navy and Army were good football teams. Plus, Air Force has been a tough team of late, and Navy nearly took out Ohio State at the Horseshoe.

So the point is, you&#039;re both out of your minds. Notre Dame has to win 10 games at least to be BCS-bound (and even then, it&#039;s reputation-based), and they may, but that defense has to tighten up. And Michigan may win the Big Ten (doubtful--not if Eastern Michigan gives you a run at home), but the Big Ten looks like the ACC right now. Good teams, but none great. The advantage for Michigan is that Big Ten auto-bid into the BCS (and don&#039;t get me started on the POS that is the BCS).

I could go on and on. I enjoy the banter back and forth. Particularly when I know that a good Mountain West team could take you both out.

I&#039;ve spoken my peace.

		<description>@Joe and @DJ

I will concede that the strength of schedule for Michigan this year is higher than that of ND, but I will respectfully disagree that they have consistently had a weaker schedule than that of Michigan.

2007: http://www.solecismic.com/frontier/sos9-2007.php ND is 14th, MI is 46.

2008: http://www.solecismic.com/frontier/sos9.php ND is 29th, MI is 51

In fact, I cannot remember the last time that ND played any div 2 or div1AA schools, but I do believe I remember when MI LOST in the big house to Appalachian State while being ranked 5th. Talk about being overrated.

In case you can&#039;t remember here is a little video tribute to that EPIC loss: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_aqMD6ij9WA

You can talk about most victories in college ball. You can talk about highest winning percentage, but I wonder if we were to strip out all of the Div 1AA schools that MI has beat over the years, where that record or % would be.

So far you have beaten Eastern MI, Western MI and ND. Lets see how you roll against the likes of Michigan State, IL, Penn State etc....

Its a long season fellas.

<description>Love the video! Perhaps you should write a blog entry about why Notre Dame is consistently overrated year, after year, after year, after year (well, you get the picture). If you do, please try to explain why they always have such a weak schedule (they might as well be playing Div II schools). Thank you for your consideration about this article.

DJ -- I think you introduced this to me, but I&#039;ve got to bring it back into play. It just needs to be updated since ND did win a bowl game against Hawaii (haha) last year. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p0Y7yjxJVlc</description>

<description>I love the passion DJ. Yes....ND lost and it was a shocker to me...but the season is far from over. Lets see what the records look like come November and what bowl each school goes to.

Great post.
